Choose the stage that actually fails
On a narrow screen, scroll sideways to see every column.
| Symptom | Start here |
|---|---|
| No suitable download / Install unavailable | Check the official product, operating system and Steam client |
| Download stops or installation errors | Read the parenthesized Steam error and use the checks below |
| Installed game will not launch | Verify installed files; record the launch error rather than assuming a transfer failure |
| Base game runs but DLC fighter is missing | Check the correct DLC entitlement and installation; this is not a base-game download problem |
| Looking for a browser download | Use the itch.io prototype’s browser entry or the official Steam installation |
Check client support separately from game minimums
The game’s reviewed native listings are Windows and macOS, with Linux false in the Steam API. A community compatibility-layer report does not create native Linux support.
Old operating-system minimums in the game listing do not establish that today’s Steam client can install on them. The requirements page shows both layers and the macOS client-support changes. A controller-support label also does not provide a console download.
Safe Steam checks in order
- Restart Steam and the computer, then retry the transfer.
- For a repeated transfer/configuration problem, clear the download cache from Steam’s Downloads settings. Be prepared to sign in again.
- For a library write/permissions error, use the folder-repair action in Steam’s Storage settings.
- For an already installed game, use its Library Properties → Installed Files integrity check.
Retry after each applicable check so you can identify which changed the outcome. These are Valve’s general installation checks, not proven game-specific diagnoses.
Stop guessing when the same error returns
Keep the exact error, operating system and failure stage. Use Steam Support for a client/download failure, or the game’s Steam discussions for a reproducible game-content problem. Missing paid content requires checking the matching DLC in your account and Library; the reviewed player reports do not supply a universal DLC unlock fix.
Nixon’s July 2026 release delay was a dated developer-confirmed store problem. It is historical evidence, not a reason to assume every later installation problem has the same cause.
